Pic of the Week!

I was excited to see that one of my cards from my blog last week was picked as "Pic of the week" on the NZSU blog website. There are lots of wonderful creations featured on this blog.  One of the many things I enjoy about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is seeing the wonderful creations other demonstrators make.  Thank you Callena for doing a great job running the website.
This is the card I made.

For details on what I used to make it, please see the original post here

Make a Statement Digital Tour - My Digital Studio

Have you ever wondered about My Digital Studio - MDS?  It is an intuitive digital design software featuring Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive artwork, colours and templates!

My Digital Studio is more than making cards on the computer.  If you are like me, I like to make handmade cards, but you can use some digital features on some of your cards, and then add embellishments like ribbon, buttons etc, to add texture and that handmade feel to your card.  And of course My Digital Studio offers a lot more than just this.

Learn how My Digital Studio can fit in with your life and your style to help you become your own digital designer—creating cards, invitations, photobooks, party décor, recipe books, home décor, calendars and more! Being creative couldn’t be easier!

Stampin' Up! have the "Make a Statement Digital Tour" in September which will give you a great understanding of how My Digital Studio works.

For only $45 NZD, discover a range of inspirational projects, ideas and techniques through project displays and engaging presentations. Just bring your laptop and digital images and follow along in our classes to create your own designer photobook—capturing your own cherished memories! You’ll go home with several complete pages—which you can then print, e-mail or upload to the Internet. Classes are designed for beginners, to provide you with a basic understanding of My Digital Studio software.

When: Saturday 7th September
Time: 12:00pm - 4:30pm
Where: Alexandra Park Raceway, Greenlane Road West, Epsom
Cost: $45 - Includes the software too so you can download it before you come.

I will be going to this event, so if you don't have a laptop, come and sit with me and learn how to use the software.

Here is a You Tube video about it.

Another Gift Box - A Mini Pizza Box

Here is another gift box I made recently.  This one is a bit smaller than the one I showed you yesterday, but again features the Strawberry Slush colour. I really like this new In Colour.

This is a 4" mini pizza box to put some smaller 3 1/2" squared cards.

The cards are a similar design to some I posted a few days ago.  See hereThese cards also feature the Gingham Garden Washi Tape and Label Love stamp set along with the coordinating Artisan Punch. I used my Simply Scored Tool to make both the box and envelopes to go with the cards.

Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Naturals White
Ink: Strawberry Slush
Other: Simply Scored Tool, Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder, Artisan Punch, Pansy Punch, Sponges, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, Tombow

I wanted to make a gift box to put in some cards I have made to give to a family member.  I used my Simply Scored Tool to make the box and added a belly band.  I used coloured cardstock for the base of the box and acetate for the top so that you can see through and see what is inside.

Supplies: (For the box, not the card inside.  Details of the card can be seen here.)
Stamp Set: Label Love
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Acetate
DSP: Gingham Garden DSP
Ink: Strawberry Slush,
Other: Simply Scored Tool, Artisan Label Punch, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, Adhesive

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back tomorrow and see another type of gift box.

Golf Punch Art

I made this card for a friend who likes to play golf. The Pennants Parade stamp set is on my wish list and I would have liked to have used it for these trees, but this time I had to make do with my own triangles.  I know that you can do a lot with the pennant parades stamps, so it is still a stamp set I would like to buy it. I had lots of fun making this golfing scene card.

(Sorry for the poor quality of the photo.  I finished the card in the evening and took a quick photo before I dropped it off to the recipient.)

Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Basic Black, Gumball Green
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade (retired) Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar
Other: Cloud Embossing Folder (retired), Large Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Sponges, Kebab Stick (non SU), Crystal Effects, Dimensional, Tombow

Thanks for visiting.

Owl Tags

The ladies from my weekend class who purchased something from me last month received one of these owl tags with their order.  I made these little tags to attach to their bag of goodies with a thank you message from me on the back.  I decided to use the owl punch as some of them saw some cards and other crafts that I made that featured the owl and they liked the it.  One person purchased the owl punch so I thought it would also give them an example to work from.

Cardstock: Lucky Limeade (retired), Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso,  Early Espresso Core'dinations, Whisper White
DSP: In colours 2011-2013
Other: Owl Punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Sanding Black, Adhesive

Have a great weekend.

Thursday Morning Card Class - this week

This Thursday is my monthly mid-week morning card class. With Father's Day coming up on Sunday 1st September, I thought this month would be a good opportunity to make some masculine cards.  You can then choose which sentiment you would like to add so if can be used for Father's Day, a birthday or another occasion. Usually we make the same card in different colours, but this time I thought we would make two slightly different cards of a masculine theme.

Here are two similar versions on the first design:

The second card:

When: Thursday 8th August.
Time: Arrive from 9:15am.  Classes starts at 9:30am  (It takes about 1 hour)
Where: Unsworth Heights
Cost: $7 for two cards
All materials provided and will be pre-cut and ready for you to stamp, punch etc. and create.
Toddlers welcome.   If you have time, please feel free to stay for tea/coffee and morning tea afterwards.

RSVP - Ideally by Tuesday 6th August
- tonight (or by midday tomorrow - Wed 7th August - at the latest).  Email me here.  Limited numbers so please RSVP.

If you are interested in coming, but not able to make that date, please let me know as I may look at offering a repeat class on either Thursday 15th or Friday 16th August.

I hope to see you there.
