Pic of the Week!

I was excited to see that one of my cards from my blog last week was picked as "Pic of the week" on the NZSU blog website. There are lots of wonderful creations featured on this blog.  One of the many things I enjoy about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is seeing the wonderful creations other demonstrators make.  Thank you Callena for doing a great job running the website.
This is the card I made.

For details on what I used to make it, please see the original post here

Another Gift Box - A Mini Pizza Box

Here is another gift box I made recently.  This one is a bit smaller than the one I showed you yesterday, but again features the Strawberry Slush colour. I really like this new In Colour.

The cards are a similar design to some I posted a few days ago.  See hereThese cards also feature the Gingham Garden Washi Tape and Label Love stamp set along with the coordinating Artisan Punch. I used my Simply Scored Tool to make both the box and envelopes to go with the cards.

Golf Punch Art

I made this card for a friend who likes to play golf. The Pennants Parade stamp set is on my wish list and I would have liked to have used it for these trees, but this time I had to make do with my own triangles.  I know that you can do a lot with the pennant parades stamps, so it is still a stamp set I would like to buy it. I had lots of fun making this golfing scene card.

(Sorry for the poor quality of the photo.  I finished the card in the evening and took a quick photo before I dropped it off to the recipient.)

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Basic Black, Gumball Green
Cardstock: Whisper White, Gumball Green, Lucky Limeade (retired) Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar
Other: Cloud Embossing Folder (retired), Large Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Sponges, Kebab Stick (non SU), Crystal Effects, Dimensional, Tombow

Thanks for visiting.

Owl Tags

The ladies from my weekend class who purchased something from me last month received one of these owl tags with their order.  I made these little tags to attach to their bag of goodies with a thank you message from me on the back.  I decided to use the owl punch as some of them saw some cards and other crafts that I made that featured the owl and they liked the it.  One person purchased the owl punch so I thought it would also give them an example to work from.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Lucky Limeade (retired), Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso,  Early Espresso Core'dinations, Whisper White
DSP: In colours 2011-2013
Other: Owl Punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Sanding Black, Adhesive

Have a great weekend.

Thursday Morning Card Class - this week

This Thursday is my monthly mid-week morning card class. With Father's Day coming up on Sunday 1st September, I thought this month would be a good opportunity to make some masculine cards.  You can then choose which sentiment you would like to add so if can be used for Father's Day, a birthday or another occasion. Usually we make the same card in different colours, but this time I thought we would make two slightly different cards of a masculine theme.

Here are two similar versions on the first design:

The second card:

Time: Arrive from 9:15am.  Classes starts at 9:30am  (It takes about 1 hour)
Where: Unsworth Heights

Toddlers welcome.   If you have time, please feel free to stay for tea/coffee and morning tea afterwards.

RSVP - Ideally by Tuesday 6th August
- tonight (or by midday tomorrow - Wed 7th August - at the latest).  Email me here.  Limited numbers so please RSVP.

If you are interested in coming, but not able to make that date, please let me know as I may look at offering a repeat class on either Thursday 15th or Friday 16th August.

I hope to see you there.

Another Washi Tape Card and the Label Love Stamp Set

On Saturday afternoon I had my monthly card class.  We had three new ladies join us our class.  We had lots of fun using some of the new products from the new catalogue.

Here is a card we made featuring washi tape and the new Label Love stamp set with the matching punch.   This is cased from Leonie Schroder

Supplies:

Stamps: Label Love

Cardstock: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush

Ink: Bermuda Bay

Other:  Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape, Bermuda Bay Twine (from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit), Artisan Label Punch, Dimensionals, Adhesive

The washi tape is so quick and easy to use.  I have used the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape for this card, but it also comes in another colour which is great for more masculine and not so bright projects.

Washi Tape Card

Sorry that it has been a couple of weeks since I last posted.  It has been school holidays so I have been busy with my kids.  During that time I also had a couple of Kid's Craft Classes which went really well.  The kids enjoyed the classes and I did too.  If you would like to see what we made, click here If you have a group of children keen to make what we made in the holidays, please contact me and I can hold a repeat class during the weekend.  I hope to do have classes again during the next holidays (September) with some new things to make, so if you would like to take part, please let me know and remember to ask about them closer to the time.

I have also been getting ready for my monthly card class which is this coming weekend.  One of the cards we will make will feature washi tape.  I love this new colourful, repositionable tape.

I will post the card will be make in my class once I have had the class, but I wanted to have some other samples cards using washi tape too, so this is one of them.  I have CASed it from Sharlene Meyers.

The washi tape adds some colour to the card.  I also like the way a few simple lines scored with the Simply Scored Tool adds some texture to the card.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Express Yourself (Hostess stamp set)
Card Stock: Island Indigo, Whisper White
Ink: Island Indigo
Other: Gingham Garden Designer Washi tape, Simply Scored, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Remember that the Greetings promotion ends next week on 31st July.  You can see the three sets on sale here.  Just scroll down a little to see them.  Please feel free to contact me if you would like to place an order, or place one online here.

Kids' Holiday Craft Class

My children are still at school this week.  Their holidays start next week, but some schools get a three week holiday are already on holiday this week.  So this afternoon I held my first kids' holiday craft class.  The children had a lot of fun and enjoyed making these two projects.

Project One: Pen/pencil holder - They decorated their holders with some owls made from a punch, did some stamping and sponging and used the "Big Shot" to create some texture on their branches.

Project Two: Box - They were each able to make one of these boxes.  Once they put it together, they used stamps and punches to decorate it.

I am also holding a repeat of this class next week on Tuesday 16th July.  More details are here.

If have a group of children (minimum four) who interested in making these projects, but are not able to make the class, please let me know and we can try and arrange another time to do it, at my place or yours.

A Sneak Peak - Stars & some new In Colours

Here is a card, based on this week's sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday #123 but with a different colour combination from yesterday's card.  This uses some of the new In Colours that will feature in the new catalogue.

For this card I used the "ink and emboss" technique.  I used a brayer and inked my embossing folder on one side, then I placed the card inside and put it through my Big Shot.  This then added some ink to part of the chevron background.

This was my card for a team swap with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  One of the many advantages of being a demo (demonstrator) is that you get to meet with lots of other like minded people, share ideas and have fun as we learn some new things together.  We had a enjoyable training day yesterday and for those that wanted to, we could take part in a swap.  I made about 16 of these cards  to swap.  In return I got lots of other wonderful examples of cards and projects made using things from the new catalogue.  Remember the new catalogue starts on 2nd July 2013!

Thanks for stopping by.

Try Stampin' On Tuesday #123

This is this week's sketch from Try Stampin' Up Tuesday #123.

The card I made for this challenge gives you a sneak peak of two wonderful new stamp sets from the new catalogue that begins on 2nd July.  I decided to make this into a more masculine card and so used Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock.

Come back tomorrow and I will show you a card using a similar layout to this, but with completely different colours.

If you would like a copy of the new catalogue, or would like to attend a class in July, please contact me.  This is a great opportunity to see some of the new stamps sets and lots of other great product from the new catalogue, and have a try with some of it too.
